This fine art series forms part of my ongoing project, Stepback, rendered in acrylic half-tone op-art on canvas. It explores the fascinating stories of Black women from the UK and examines a fundamental truth: we can only fully appreciate goodness, joy, and enlightenment through the lens of their opposites—hardship, suffering, and ignorance—a realisation that comes when we get the courage to step back to see the bigger picture of our lives.
